This looks like a lot of fun and I'd love to give it a try.

I would suggest tiding up the rule book a bit as there are some typos and some rules are hidden under other rules making it a bit difficult to understand. 

Examples:
Short trip - do we trigger Short Trip everytime we travel to the edge of map - Agri / Mining Planets because the only path is to travel backwards? If yes, it means the mission of Rescure VIP is not possible as all space debris event are replaced in short trip situation.

In the rulebook, Mission two requires selling 5 illicit but it is not mentioned in the mission card. Does it mean selling any 5 illicit or does it have to be done in a mission - If it has to be a mission, the privateer job only has a sell 3 illicit mission. Selling 5 illicit mission is only in the Pirate Bar with roll of 4. Is that the mission to do?

Again with Mission 2, the rulebook states PC gets 2 free crew but the cards states you may select 1 crew for free.

Escape Rule: The rulebook states oYabby can only escape witin 400k and after second round. Does it mean PC can only escape from the 3rd round which is pretty harsh?

Also drop 1 cargo to increase Odds. Does it mean increase by 1? Can we drop more than 1 cargo to increase it more?

OMG i have not check into this page for a while and i saw your message sent 65days ago! My humblest apologies. 

Just a few days ago i have managed to get a proof reader onboard as I have been looking at ways to turn this this into a physical copy. Life, work & family  got in the way so i have not been looking at this game. I totally understand that the rules requires some fixes and we are going through this right now.

Your questions regarding the gameplay has prompt some real issues to the mechanics, namely the short trip and the rescue VIP mission. Boy, that's a tough one as the short trip was meant to stop people from farming their way to riches from one planet with the next planet over and over again. Perhaps i could solve this by stating the recuse VIP will need be accomplish by the next 2 orbital planet phase before it is a complete failure.

the 2 mission does requires you to go to the smugglers port to get the job to deliver illicit (which is 5 stated in the pirates bar) to the 3rdplanet.

Escaping- if any enemy ship appeared within 3000klicks, you may immediately try to escape at the roll of 4+. If the enemy ship appears 6000Klicks, ya...you will have to wait for them to move into the 4000Klicks zone before attempting to escape.

mission 2 crew members- yes you should get 2 for free

Cargo drop. This is a onetime, 1 item drop which should increase your die roll by +1. Dropping more will not increase your chances.

Thank you so much for your feed back. Hopefully with the coming release of the physical copy and the proof reader onboard i will put some work into sorting more of these issues.

Hi everyone,

Just a small update.


Life and work has been demanding in our lives, but we are doing the best we can to find time to hopefully turn this game into a physical product through "thegamecrafter".

We are planing to update the cards to a higher resolution, which means i have to re do all the cards. As a bonus we plan to update some of the images to the cards, specifically to the ship cards.

Scott the artist has done a fantastic job in re-imagining my freighter sketch into his art style shown as shown above.

Although it's just a sketch, one can already feel the awesomeness in it! Stay tune.

Is there a way to get copywrite permission to print this game out with The Game Crafter?  They need expressed permission with contact info to verify?

Hi there, as i do not own the rights to the images and it belongs to the artist(which is my agreement to only put this out in itchio and pnp for free) i can't really put this up in the game crafter. I can try reaching out to him but he is rather busy.

Your going to Publish with the game crafter!   That's great!    I was going to use the game crafter to print a 1 time use for myself  - that's why I asked for your permission.  Regardless I have spent the time in photoshop and rendered all your work into cards with the game crafters template, did you want me to send them to you?  It may save  allot of time copy/paste, crop etc... for you!

Are you sure it's 12 tokens? It says so at this page and the rules and BGG, but the screenshot shows more than 20.

Yikes! Sorry about that. It should be 25 cube tokens. I need to adjust the token count which has increased since the work in progress. Thanks for spotting that.

Looks amazing! Can't wait to get the rules. 

Also -- I dont know if you plan to sell this or ever revise parts of it so it's not so close to WC Privateer, but I bet there would be a market for this game if it were in book format (not card format). There are a number of these (D100 dungeon, the Four Against Darkness system, the Mike Lambo r&w wargames,  and The Fight for Air Supremacy r&w wargames). This could easily be the next one! Something to consider. :)

Thanks for the word of encouragement Mark. At the moment the Artist and I do intend to put this game out for free, but I will look into the other games you have mentioned as homework, if i ever do decide to take this to the commercial level. :)
